Kutz Announces Pedestrian Safety Grant for Silver Spring Township

February 10, 2026

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Thomas Kutz (R-Cumberland) today announced that Silver Spring Township has been awarded $148,946 through Pennsylvania’s Automated Red Light Enforcement (ARLE) Grant Program to enhance pedestrian safety at signalized intersections throughout the township.

The funding will be used to upgrade pedestrian infrastructure at all eligible signalized intersections, including the installation of high-visibility longitudinal bar crosswalks. These improvements are designed to increase visibility for drivers and pedestrians, reduce crashes, and promote safer travel for residents and visitors.

“This investment is a major step toward improving safety and accessibility for everyone in Silver Spring Township,” said Kutz. “High-visibility crosswalks make a real difference in preventing accidents and ensuring pedestrians can cross safely in high traffic areas. I am proud to advocate for project funding that supports the growing communities here in Cumberland County.”

The ARLE Grant Program supports projects that improve traffic safety and mobility across Pennsylvania.

Questions about this grant should be directed to Kutz’s office at 717-975-2235.
