HARRISBURG – The office of Rep. Thomas Kutz (R-Cumberland) is partnering with YWCA Carlisle and Cumberland County, Upper Allen Township, Upper Allen Woman’s Club, Greenlight Operation, She’s Somebody’s Daughter, and Peace Promise to host “Where Does Human Trafficking Start?” a workshop to boost awareness about human trafficking and educate parents and caregivers in the 87th District about internet safety for children.
“In today’s digital age, predators connect online to facilitate trafficking,” said Kutz. “This workshop and its speakers will explore how human trafficking intersects with the internet and technology. It will also cover unsafe apps, parental controls and more.
“I hope many parents and caregivers take advantage of this opportunity to learn how to protect their children and loved ones from falling victim to human trafficking,” concluded Kutz.
The community workshop will be held on Monday, June 10, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Upper Allen Township building, 100 Gettysburg Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Kutz’s office will be on hand during the event with state-related literature and resources for interested attendees.
This workshop will cover sensitive topics like online safety, sexual abuse and human trafficking, which may not be suitable for all audiences.
Those interested in attending should RSVP online here.
