Kutz to Host Bridge Dedication for Fallen Firefighter Jerome Guise
February 26, 2024
HARRISBURG—Constituents of the 87th District are invited to join Rep. Thomas Kutz (R-Cumberland) and members of the community for the dedication of the Route 34 Bridge over Mountain Creek in Mount Holly Springs Borough in memory of fallen firefighter and community hero Jerome Guise.
The dedication will be held Saturday, March 9, at 10 a.m. at Citizens Fire Co. No. 1, located at 100 Chestnut St., Mount Holly Springs, PA 17065.
“Jerome and his service with Citizen’s Fire Co. No. 1 are mourned throughout the community today. By dedicating this bridge with permanent signage, we can forever remember his bravery and sacrifice while also inspiring gratitude for our first responders for generations to come,” said Kutz. “It is an honor to help preserve Jerome’s memory, and be surrounded by many of his friends, family, fellow first responders and neighbors as we honor his sacrifice and commitment to our community.”
Guise was a 17-year firefighter who tragically died when the porch of a house collapsed during a two-alarm fire on March 9, 2020.
